That's me insured my 5 again for next year, I had thought about taking it off the road and using it exclusively for the track as it was a bit pricey for the use it was getting but thought I would try some quotes.
Last year I was with Keith Michaels at more than £900
This year nothing has changed apart from an extra years no claims of course, making it 7 now.
I've had quotes from A Plan, Green light, Sky, Adrian flux and Paceward.
All these quotes ranged from £440 - about £520.
I went with Paceward in the end, the reasons being that Dan was very helpful on the phone, he matched the best quote and I have the option of being able to buy track cover if I decide I want it.
I suppose it is my own fault falling for the patter they fed me on the phone last year but as I had used them when I was younger with my heavily modded Subaru I trusted them when they told me on the phone that they were shocked at how cheap £900 was for me on that car
Its plain to see though that KEITH MICHAELS are nothing but thieves when all the other companies I tried were so close to each other and less than half their price.

I'm with Keith Michael's at the moment and I have found them helpful, don't know about the price as I have not tried elsewhere. However my insurance will run out with them this November so I might try elsewhere to see if I can get a better quote. :)

So you are in the same position I was.
Don't get me wrong they were very nice and helpful but not nice enough to be worth being near £500 out of pocket with.

I pay about £680 with Paceward and they insured my Transit for just over £100 extra.

Earlier in the year was my renewal time. The company (Admiral) I was with wanted considerable more for a 10 month policy then others want for a 12 month, they wouldn't move on the price of the 10 month policy or a 12month one. So the phone calls start on the hunt for a better price...

Sky Insurance gives me a price claiming it's the best I will find, nice. A few days later I get quote from Pace Ward who come up with a great price and are offering a few things others didn't beating Sky Insurance who were claiming to be the best I would find.

Once I tell them (Sky Insurance) I've got a quote £100 cheaper, with an excess £50 less and protected no claims. I get "no problem I'm sure we can best that I'll give you a call back later with a price are you willing to take the policy out today if we beat that price?". I felt as if they were forcing the policy on me and after five calls within' 30 minutes (I was driving and couldn't answer) asking me to call back to take the policy out. They just got ignore until they gave up.

So I call the company (Admiral) I took a policy out with when I bought the car. Once I told them I had gotten a cheaper price on a 12-month policy and I wanted to cancel my renewal at which point the lady asks to go over a few details. A few minutes later she comes back offering a 12-month policy cheaper then the renewal for the 10-month one and with a lower excess beating my lowest quote so far. I then asked why the price has come down when you didn't want to give a lower price the last time I called. The lady says "we see you as a loyal customer and would like you to stop with us allowing us to offer you a good discount". They lost me as a customer that day for life.

I went with Pace Ward simply because they seemed to speak to me like a normal person, wasn't trying to force anything on and from what I've seen have a good understanding of our cars. Other companies were just miles out on quotes and just wasn't even worth considering.

Wait until renewal time with all the bits your putting on, and it will be 15 years old by that time ;)
They wouldn't look at mine.
