My evo 8 wouldn't start yesterday, the battery was dead. I charged it up and away I went. I was getting14-volts at the battery so the alternator is ok. Its now struggling to idle, could a weak battery cause this? Also the battery has small round terminals, (import) is it hard to get a battery like this or should I change to the bigger terminals and connectors. Cheers

Ive a car with a battery which is ruined and wont hold charge but that doesnt have any issues with idle once you get it started. Hardly conclusive but might help...

My battery was not charging on the car, so I took it off and manually charged it put my meter on it still dead! so it was good bye battery.
Just test your battery when it is disconnected.

When you charged your battery, you probably reset your ecu. Suggest getting a new battery and letting the ecu relearn the idle. After changing battery, start the car and let it idle with everything off for 10 mins, then switch headlights, aircon and other electrics for 10 mins for the ecu to relearn idle.
