I am just checking to see if anyone has any insight on running 275/40/17's on 17x9.5" RPF1's with +18 offset on an Evo V. The Evo has coilovers. Anyone running a similar setup?

I run 17" 235's on my 5 on track which are perfect, the 235 18" I use on the road give the ocasional rub when really pushing it on dippy back roads or full lock.
I had 18" with I think 245's left over from when I had my 9 that wouldn't go near my 5 wothout arch/liner work so I got rid, I would imagine you would need serious work to accomidate 275.
I've went 285's square on my Gtr but the original fronts were only 255.

So in your experience the V/VI have less wheel clearance then the VIII/IX? That's sucks. I was hoping it was the other way around. Maybe those wheels with 255/40 instead. Hopefully.
