a problem engine

here is the situation
no 1 problem:
it idles rough when cold ok when warm

what i done:
ran a ecuscan on it and came up with 41 tps open

how do i fix this: i cleared dtc and it didnt come up again with the fault
FAULT STILL THERE

no 2 problem :
tapping sound coming from no1 piston area (closest to timing belt) rocker cover on the front side of the cover (turbo side) ((see pic ))
driven it 1000 miles last week no probems no power loss etc

signs:
dipstick kept flying out new dipstick in its ok
no oil leak
spark plugs are all good (black/brown ground electode and white centre)
no coolant in oil/oil in coolant
complete service new oils (5w30) all done at mitsubishi ralliart garage in germany )

what i have done:
compression test showed 120 (compared to other cylinders 135)
going for a timing belt change on friday booking in now

####can anyone shed anylight onto what the probem or other ways to see if there is more problems with prob no 2??

I think you need to either clean or replace your TPS as its basically tell you its open but can't open or close it itself.

The noise is probably the lash adjusters. A VERY popular upgrade is the 3mm holed lash adjusters, they reduce the noise :)

what are lash adjusters where do they go is it easyer to do it same time as timing belt ??

also would they be doing much damage to the engine ???

Lash adjuster keeps the gap between the cam and the valve minimal at all times by running oil under pressure into the vessel. They can be done at the same time as the belt, but not necessary :) They won't be doing any damage, just being noisy.
