4G63 engine with XD**** engine number????

Hello folks,

I cannot find any info on a 4G63 engine with XD7760 engine code - see pic.
Anyone have info on this engine code - i looked at a few threads but cannot find the XD code.

When you type that engine code in it throws up results for Hyundai Elantras?? Total newbie intrigued in the question so tried looking for an answer.... Hope you get it solved. There is a thread on here about engine codes but no mention of an XD

Thanks thats more info than i could find.... i was told its an evo6 engine....looked at the thread with engine codes but no XD...... still a mystery for now.... thanks and welcome.

From a post on this forum Evo 6 codes start at A the 5 has an X at start but no XD....

Hi Jabba.

I Can't seem to recall ever having worked on or come across the XD Code before but having said that, I very rarely look at the engine codes unless someone specifically asks me to check it for them or is wanting to buy an engine, in which case, I have a check for them just to make sure that they're not getting roped into buying a IV engine.

There is no definitive / comprehensive engine code list when it comes to the Evolutions as there are plenty that we have never come across due to it being predominantly an export status vehicle.

I have been meaning to update the list I posted back in the day but have no free time at all these days.....

The best place to get information on that specific code is Coordsport, they hold vast lists of numbers relating to all and sundry if it concerns Mitsubishi Motorsports.
