Hi
just picked up my car tonight and have a problem already
sorry for the newb questions but have searched the forum and although have now got an idea still dont know the likely cost of problem.
i have all 3 lights stay illuminated on the acy, i know when i looked at the car last week there was just the one for tarmac, so it was working then, but didnt realise till i was half way home that all 3 now remain on. if its a new pump what sort of costs am i looking at.
Any advice would be very much appreciated
Thanks

Ouch!!!! Not sure on exact coat but before you scare yourself with coat on new parts flash out the codes and find what the fault is, could be something simple and non expensive,

They can get repaired from £250 so I wouldn't worry that much
Get the fluid changed it may be low :)

Sorry but i woukd be on the phone to the seller, at least for a little money to cover the repair.

Trouble is until the prob is found out you don't know if a temp repair has been done to sell or maybe it's the cars time to pack up its just the risk with used cars unfortunately

Check the multi connector under the passenger carpet. There prone to corroding. Would be my first port of call.

Thanks for the replys
just an update, i had to take the car to wales this weekend, anyway after driving 100miles stopped and on restarting the car only 1 light remained on and stayed ok all day after that. The next morning it was back to 3 lights on and again today i had 3 lights, until i drove a long way and then restarted the car and back to 1 light.
Any ideas ?

Check oil level as said..but sounds like its going to be more than that if three lights are staying on most the time.

Very common problem. If you are getting the three lights intermittently then it means your AYC/ACD pump (one pump runs both) is on the way out rather than it having gone completely. It'll just get worse and then be permabroke. New pump you're looking at £2.5k. Lots of places do reconned pumps or second hand ones, look to pay £250-£500, some will need your old pump in exchange to be reconned. You can recon the pump yourself if you fancy it.

If you bought this from a trader then take it back, if you bought it private you'll have to suck it up :(
