right folks a few questions. first i am soon to be decatting my evo7. im not too fussed if have to drive around with the engine light on but would prefer not as we all know it does more than 1 thing. will i need an o2 simulator or if i had a decat pipe with the screw in for the 02 sensor would it be ok. if not and i was driving with the light on wouldnt this cause problems with fuelling etc due to reading no cat. any ideas or suggestions :hm:

If you are planning on de-catting the car then you will need a map at some point.

The mapper can turn the light off for you and eliminate the sensor form the equation.

Some VII's have the sensor in the cat and some do not.

Have you checked it already???

As said befor mate, de-cating won't put you light on cos the sensor is way before the cat !! Mapping is advised due to the loss of back pressure caused buy the cat :)

Well you were lucky Lee!!!

The last one that came in for a de-cat had one in the cat section so I just unplugged the connector on the EOBD side and fed the sensor into the bung.

The rest was Russ's job :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

This one did not have it on the elbow for some reason.

I was scratching my head too for a while and then I thought, you know what, it's time to ring Russ!!!

I was so flustered I could not find his number in my phone LOL!!!

It was an ex MLR members car too that had been bought by a member on here.

Completely standard buddy.

I fitted a HKS SPF-R, HKS TRUE 3" Rally Down Pipe & HKS Super Drager System with Sport Cat on the day it came in.

It was a strange one to say the least.

I thought the 7 only has 1 o2 sensor (in the elbow) so decating wont throw any check angine light, if there was a sensor in the cat itself then this must be a cat temp sensor and can be easily sorted.

....if the car you had in El had no o2 sensor then it must be modified/remapped to be able to run full time open loop.....or did it sound like a bag of spanners.....lol

decating will be fine mate as long as its not boosting more than it was before the decat.

How much have you been quoted for the map???

It might be a good idea if you have it done from Russ on the Dyno Day that we have booked for the 4th of December!

It will cost you £185 for a road map and a Dyno run with print out.

You will struggle to find a price at double that!!!

To be honest with you Mark, it was running OK afterwards, The exhaust sounded very nice too, usual Drager sound.......

I spoke to Russ once done and told the member to book it in with him as he is from Malvern Hills so not too far to have to go.

I suspect that it has been done by now anyway.

I was definitely the 02 Sensor as there was not one on the elbow and it was all wired up to same port as it usually is.
