there is a very good step by step on clutch changing on youtube for E8. It might help out a lot if you decide to do it by urself. of course. its a 2 men job.

i dont think there will be any damage done to the pump or anything if the pump is not working. Some say that it will cause the rear diff lock. but i doubt it. Normal driving, it shud be fine. (my personal guess)
