Also, trying to decifer what is standard & whats a mod on my new car (for insurance wasnt too easy being a noob. I have bought an Evo VIII MR FQ-340with 1 previous owner. He put an evo 9 front & rear bumper on it which i declared as a mod & it also has a HKS dump valve & a turbo timer (i assume these are not standard either?)
I've been told to warm up & cool down this car but i'm not sure what i should or shouldnt do here to take care of it properly. |
welcome bro
quite a few evo owners i have come to know over the last few months swear by elephant, as they seem to be the cheapest. i wouldnt bother declaring the dump valve or turbo timer as mods, and as long as the bumpers are not aftermarket ones i.e hks etc i wouldnt bother either.
on mine i declared
hks kensei front bumper
carbon bonnet
apexi exhaust
deam dynamics alloys
but thats just my opinion, if you feel safer declaring everything, do it
as for warming up and cooling down, when you start the motor, leave it turning over for 30 secs or more until you drive away, also dont boot it for a good few minutes until the engine is at its optimum temp. the turbo timer should help it cool down, i.e leave the engine running for 40 secs or more after youve parked
