Hi Guys,

Ok I have decided that as i dont know any of the past mapping history of my car im going to get it done by a reputable person.

The guy who im getting to do it has told me to get -

1. an uprated dump valve off a later Evo

2. a Walbro uprated 255lph fuel pump

3. an uprated 3 port solenoid

Ok my question is this... im ok with all bar the solenoid...

I know that this one from Dave at R Spec will do the job

3 Port Boost control Solenoid For Mitsubishi Evolution | eBay UK

But i have been offered a 3 port solenoid from a Subaru for £15

Subaru impreza Classic Turbo 3 Port Boost Solenoid | eBay UK

Does anyone know if the Subaru one will be ok? im guessing that the Subaru one will be a higher quality unit as its retails for over £200 new!!

If someone could answer this question for me that would be great!!

Cheers,

Mark

I have been doing a lot of research lately and from memory i remember reading the resistances in the Scooby ones is to low and may work with a resistor and is not plug and play like others

tbh compatability im not too sure about but if its off a scooby i reacon its poisen lol. for the extra get the gizmo 3 port from spec r they are much more responsive and have heard nothing but praise from them.

the mods he has said are pretty much standard stage 1 which is the best place to start, i would also say a decat for better gains

Hi Guys,

lol yeah i dont want to poison my Evo!!!

I just thought for £15 if it does the job i would be on a winner :)

I already have a decat and my mate has a buddy club 4 branch manifold that i might buy off of him...

Graham from Portsmouth will be mapping it.

I'd stick with the R-spec one. Mate of mine uses one and it's been faultless on his Evo :)

Mate I'd go for an induction kit, turbo elbow 3inch all the way. I done mine recently and didn't get them two things bit I wish I did as it goes better with them.
