story goes...i have had my evo off the road since before christmas, since then i had a few things painted and a general tidy up.
all built up today, thought id take it out to loosen off brakes etc, taking it very very slowly, about a mile from my house, evo just cuts out compleyely and rolls to a stop.
1st thought were it wasnt getting fuel, checked that and def getting fuel so next i checked was the spark...pulled out plug 1/2 and no spark.
anyone any ideas?:confused::(

Could be a whole line of things wrong buddy, best off starting with summat more simple, if you know anyone with a Evo grab their coils and give it a go, free for starters and after that you can look at things like crank sensors n stuff

Doubt it's your crank sensor. No spark only on 1 and 2? I'd go with a coil pack....
Try fault code reading!!!!

1 and 2 are feed by different coil packs so unlikely they both gone down at the same time. I'd say crank sensor or imobiliser issue :)

cheers buddy, ruled out imobiliser issue as when its imobilised, i think im right in saying that the fuel pump wont prime and its getting fuel :confused:im clueless, hope that makes sense

Have you pinned out the OBD and checked the fault code yet mate? Crank sensor will throw up fault code 22.

Matthew :)

21 coolant temp sensor
22 crank angle sensor
23 cam sensor
24 vechicle speed sensor
25 barometric pressure sensor

22 fr left wheel speed sensor open or short circuit
23 rear right wheel speed sensor open or short circuit
24 rear left wheel speed sensor open or short circuit
25 wrong diam tyre
26 faulty wheel speed sensor
31 steer sensor system(st1,st2,stn)open circuit
32 steer sensor stn short circuit
33 steer sensor stn system
34 steer system st1 st2 short circuit
41 tps open or short circuit
51 longitudinal acc sensor open or short circuit
52 longitudinal acc sensor
56 lateral acc sensor open or short circuit
61 stop lamp switch system open-circuit

It's under the dash below the steering wheel. You'll need to ly on your back with head in the footwell. You'll see the port an if you look close you'll see the pins are numbered :)

the ABS codes its bringing up mean something mate. Long flashes are the first digit i.e 4 long flashes is 4, short flashes is the next number, i.e 4 short= code 44

That would say error code 46 you are seeing above, not sure on that one without seeing the car.

If you disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes it clears the error codes. When i had a faulty crank sensor the error code was intermittent, was a tough one to find, tell me have you changed your belts recently?
