You say this but when my car was completley unmolested it ran 295hp on tescos and alot of people use it and alot of mappers will tell you youll get less knock on tescos than V power

Hi all I recently bought an evo 7 with nothing much really modified on it apart from exhaust and air filter. Was wondering what sort of miles your supposed to get from £20 shell v-power because I only got 60 miles. Wanted to know if this sounded right or if I need to check the car out to see if its been modified to run higher fuel . Thanks all.

I would say 60 miles on £20 isnt bad i only got around 30 with the esso version

but i had been playing abit

have not tried Vpower yet i didnt have enough fuel to make it to the shell station so had to use esso again

i will try both tesco 99 and vpower see whats best but i am trying to be a bit more light footed now

My evo 4 is totally standard right down to the exhaust which has a million silencers need to get that changed want a Blue Flame just need to convince the misses its a really good idea any ideas how i can do that ?

i have seen a few std maps for these cars and based on what i saw it would be very easy to get much better mileage if you tweek the ecu,,,you would also get more power as well...ive seen maps from a 8 as well and it would seem to be hitting 9: 1 afrs in the hight load, and ,high rpm sections of the ecu map ,thats when it sense the slightest of knock.... a quick flash and afr, was now in the 11.7 area, with no knock, and the result is much much better mileage(120miles on a little over half tank) hard driving, with a extra 40whp

Default Fuel

Ive got a Evo 6 a full tank cost me £36 and thats the BP V-power and if i drive normal i can get 200 miles to a tank, but it does go down quite a bit if i boot it which is really hard not to, only mods are a full jap stainless exhaust, i put a cold air induction kit on but it felt the power was down so i put the standard box back on and now it's fine, but wot a awesome car to drive, just like them as there different

Thats very true although id say the gains of 40hp are more of a flywheel figure.. i noticed a difference when we played with mine and smoothed the fueling map out that made a difference on its own

I have an evo8 n I soon got bored of dusting saxos ect,I prefer to go for the big boys like astons ect, more of a challenge so its rare that I put my foot down,I did a little test last time I filled up,with it bin my daily drive I stuck it at 50-60mph all the time,it costs me £45 from 1/4 tank to fill n I cn get 330miles out of it,and I never let the fuel light come on,coasting down hills also helps.

Hi just an update I now managed to get 80 miles out of my evo 7 with £20 of shell v - power costing 109.9p per litre. This is an increase of 20 miles coz I last got only 60 miles from £20 of shell v-power. The increase was probably because I was sitting in less traffic. But I think 80 miles is gonna be the best I get out of the car with every day driving.

So ur paying 109.9 a ltr for extra miles instead of paying 101.9 for a few less miles,I'm sure if u worked out the diference the extra 8p a ltr was making to ur economy itl work out its not worth it,iv used normal unleaded n so far iv put 65quid in n iv managed 420miles, I normaly use shell but iv used morisons, asda, tesco n sainsburys n it hasn't changed my mpg.
