Is that on the second downpipe with a heat shield round it the first pipe has a flexible joint..because thats what i can see

it should be just past the engine bay (under the car obviously) and looks like a big exhaust backbox type thing (lol). i think the orange light is the engine management light, so you really need to get it checked out before it the problem gets worse

Where abouts are you from? ill see if i can find you a good cheap mitsi specialist near you.. or you can take it to your local rolling road to check the power levels and to get a full diagnosis check at the same time. my local road charges £75 for the full check, so you should be looking at between £50 and £100

not quite sure what im looking for but, in line with the drivers door there is something under a heat shield and there is no box before that...

We are in Darlington... but the car is not running well enough to go on a rolling road.... i appreciate your help though.

If its the cat which is blocked/semi blocked the lamda probe will be choking too (hence the engine management light)

Id get it somewhere where they can read the error code. That will point you in the right direction.

It doesnt have to run flat out on the road for a diagnosis test mate. as the light comes on randomly, it just needs to run at the kind of speed that your experiencing the problems. Because if you just try a diagnosis from tickover, the problem might not show up

Hi, ive recently changed the cat for a decat but unfortunately the problems still remain.
the car cars performance is strangled and wont really rev happily past around 2500 revs and orange engine sign is still lit up... any ideas welcome.....

As soon as we unplugged the bottom hose off the dump valve performance was restored so iv blocked off the bottom pipe but left the standard dump valve on.. is it going to do any harm
